KPL
Solution for Low Head, High Capacity

Propeller pumps are an excellent solution for applications pumping very large volumes at low head. Capacities range up to 120,000 gpm, pumping heads of up to 60 feet.

The KPL series pumps are used in storm water stations, sewage treatment plants, drainage and a variety of other applications.

Select from a range of propellers to suit your specific application, eliminating the need for gear reducers to control speed.

The pumps are typically installed in metal or concrete tubes. The very compact design ensures ease of installation and maintenance resulting in lower overall costs.

Features and Benefits

1. Cable entry
One-piece molded type cable entry with triple compression sealing, anti-wicking block ensures leak-proof design.

2. Motor
Heavy duty, high efficiency, Class H insulated, IP 68 protection, air filled, squirrel cage induction motor with thermal protection imbedded in each phase of windings, assures trouble free and low cost operation. NEMA Design B, Class H (180°C) explosion proof version (Class1, Div. 1, Groups C&D) is standard.

3. Sensors
Thermistor type stator winding temperature sensors embedded in each phase of motor windings. Float type seal sensor in oil chamber. RTD type bearing temperature sensor in bearing housing. Moisture sensor in junction box is optional.

4. Shaft and Bearing
Ample size stainless steel shaft and oversized ball-type thrust and radial bearings ensure smooth and vibration free running. Maintenance free antifriction bearings with permanent grease lubrication are built-in. 100,000 hours of bearing life time (L-10 Life) is minimum.

5. Mechanical Seals
Double mechanical shaft seal in oil chamber (silicon carbide versus silicon carbide or other materials as options) with additional lip seal assures long life even under the most demanding running conditions.

6. Impeller
Diffuser vane equipped pump bowl with axial propeller. Wear resistant impellers are machined precisely to keep exact tolerances for maximum hydraulic efficiency and dynamically balanced to avoid vibration. Adjustable pitch propeller is available.

7. Rotation Stopper
Simple and compact rotation stopper prevents pump from tilting and and guarantees fast installation and removal.

ACC (Anti Cavitation Cone)
Patented ACC installed just beneath the suction bowl prevents cavitation and minimizes noise and vibration. ACC can also prevent vortexing and fluid separation phenomenon.
