KWM
Large Volume, Medium Head Pumps

The KWM series of mixed flow pumps can handle capacities up to 105,000 gpm and pumping heads up to 85 feet. The KWM series is manufactured in both cast iron and stainless steel. Explosion-proof designs are also available.

Applications include storm water, wastewater, process water, raw water and industrial effluent.

Installed vertically in steel or concrete tubes, the pumps are designed for ease of installation and maintenance resulting in lower cost of ownership.

Features and Benefits

1. Cable entry
One-piece molded type cable entry with triple compression sealing, anti-wicking block ensures leak-proof design.

2. Junction Box
Water tight enclosed connection chamber with IP 68 protection. Cable inlet with strain relief anti-kink device and double seal.

3. Motor
Squirrel cage induction motor with windings from 4 to 18 poles designed for class S1 duty. NEMA Design B, Class H (180°C) insulated stator windings capable of starting up to 15 times/hour maximum, while larger units are capable of 6 evenly spaced times/hour
in general.

4. Shaft and Bearing
Ample size stainless steel shaft and oversized ball-type thrust and radial bearings ensure smooth and vibration free running. Maintenance free antifriction bearings with permanent grease lubrication are built-in. 100,000 hours of bearing life time (L-10 Life) is minimum.

5. Bumper Ring
Bumper ring around guide casing provides simple and easy installation and removal.

6. Oil Chamber
Oil filled chamber for lubricating and cooling mechanical seal units provides an additional leakage barrier.

7. Mechanical Seals
Double mechanical shaft seal in oil chamber (silicon carbide versus silicon carbide or other materials as options) with additional lip seal assures long life even under the most demanding running conditions.

8. Impeller
Multi-channeled diffuser equipped casing with mixed flow impeller ensures high efficiency and high capacity.

ACC (Anti Cavitation Cone)
Patented ACC installed just beneath the suction bowl prevents cavitation and minimizes noise and vibration. ACC can also prevent vortexing and fluid separation phenomenon.
