Slurry Agitator Pumps for High Wear Applications
 

Slurry handling and removal is one of the toughest pumping applications. The KAO is designed to meet this challenge. The special agitator is manufactured in wear-resistant high-chrome and specifically designed for efficient solids handling. The impeller is also manufactured in wear-resistant high-chrome. The special design provides higher efficiency and is wear-resistant to abrasive slurries.

With capacities up to 4,000 gpm and heads up to 120 feet, the KAO is capable of handling the most difficult slurry applications, including foundry slag pit drainage, ready mix concrete as well as sand or sediment removal from sumps and basins.

Plant personnel will appreciate the ease of installation and maintenance that makes the KAO a very cost effective solution for these difficult applications. Critical high-wear parts are stocked for just-in time delivery.

1. Water Tight Cable Entry System
Unique two-part, integrally molded cable entry system provides water
tight sealing system.

2. Continuous Duty Motor
Heavy duty, air filled motor, NEMA Design B, Class H (180°C) insulation allowing up to 15 starts per hour. Motor is high efficiency for low operating cost and maximum life expectancy.

3. Easy Access Inspection
Seal chamber inspection port provides easy access for periodic inspection.

4. Triple Sealing System
KJI Hydro's Triple Sealing System provides one of the most reliable sealing systems in the industry. The sealing system consists of double mechanical seals or tandem seals having silicon carbide faces that operate independently in an oil bath. In addition, the lower mechanical seal is protected against contamination by an additional lip seal located directly behind the impeller.
The unique combination of the lip seal, lower primary seal and upper secondary seal provide Triple Sealing protection for the submersible motor, ensuring greater reliability and all its many benefits - less downtime, lower maintenance costs and greater plant efficiency.

5. Slurry Style Impeller
Enclosed hard metal impeller provides higher efficiency and is extremely wear resistant to abrasive slurries.

6. Heavy Duty Agitator
Pump is equipped a heavy duty agitator as standard. The agitator provides positive solids re-suspension for efficient solids handling.
