KML
Submersible Mixers - Low Speed

The low speed, large diameter KML mixers are used in gently mixing large volumes. Applications include mixing of suspended solids in sewage and wastewater treatment plants, anaerobic mixing for de-nitrification and de-phosphorization in sewage treatment, flow creation in tanks, open channel waterways, fish farms and amusement parks.

The KML is generally installed in a tank or sump using a compact guide rail system that allows mixing at different depths with a single unit traveling along the guide rail, for complete mixing of the tank. The guide rail system assures ease of installation and quick removal without entering the sump or tank. The movable davit and electric winch system are value added features.

The KML series mixer is designed to produce flows in excess of 60,000 gpm.

1. Water Tight Cable Entry System
Unique two-part, integrally molded cable entry system provides water tight sealing system.

2. Heavy Duty, High Efficiency Motor
Air filled squirrel cage induction motor with NEMA design B class H insulation, built in thermal protection in each phase of winding assures trouble free and low cost operation.

3. Reducing Planetary Gear
Planetary gear unit between motor and propeller provides efficient, high torque, low speed mixing.

4. Heavy Duty Bearings
Heavy duty two row angular contact ball bearing and roller bearing with minimum 100,000 hours (L-10 life) for longer operation. Permanently greased bearings do not require periodic maintenance.

5. Triple Shaft Mechanical Seal
KJI Hydro's Triple Sealing System provides one of the most reliable sealing systems in the industry. The sealing system consists of double mechanical seals or tandem seals having silicon carbide faces that operate independently in an oil bath. In addition, the lower mechanical seal is protected against contamination by an additional lip seal located directly behind the impeller. The unique combination of the lip seal, lower primary seal and upper secondary seal provide Triple Sealing protection for the submersible motor, ensuring greater reliability and all its many benefits - less downtime, lower maintenance costs and greater plant efficiency.
